West End Productions Go Local!

Can’t get into London to the West End to see an acclaimed play or ballet or opera? Don’t fancy running for the train at Waterloo after a night out?

Well don’t worry – many of these productions are screened at your local theatre or cinema. In Surrey, Dorking Halls (see below) and Leatherhead Theatre offer programmes of top-quality productions from the National Theatre. These include the critically acclaimed “Motive and the Cue” with Mark Gatiss as John Gielgud and Johnny Flynn as Richard Burton. You can also see live screenings from the Royal Opera House including the iconic “Swan Lake” performed by the Royal Ballet.

It’s not quite the same as being up in London but it’s a much more relaxed evening out. This nationwide scheme offers a similar programme throughout the year in local theatres and cinemas including the Curzon and Everyman chains.
