Want a suggestion for the school holidays? How about visiting this great exhibition at the Foundling Museum entitled "Superheroes, Orphans & Origins: 125 years in comics"? Uncover the story of superheroes and explore how foundlings, orphans, adoptees, and foster children are represented in comics, graphic novels and sequential art from across the globe.

Many of the comic superheroes are orphans including DC’s Superman, who was found by his adoptive parents, Spider-Man, whose parents die in a plane crash; Batman and Black Panther also lost their parents as children. Marvel's X-Men experience both discrimination and social bias. The superheroes’ early life experiences shape their stance on good and evil in their comic lives. On until 28th August 2022, this is an educational but fun exhibition which could form part of great day out in the capital.
