Sold Out!

Really proud to be helping out an award-winning, independent bookshop in Surrey! A spin-off talk related to my Westminster Detectives talk and walking tour has sold out! It investigates the enduring, massive popularity of the so-called "Golden Era of Crime Fiction".

We'll hear shocking and tragic stories about the private lives of some our greatest crime authors like Agatha Christie and Dorothy L. Sayers, whilst examining the clues as to their inspiration behind their fiendish plots. We'll bring this up to date by seeking to find why the crime and detective novels account for 1 in 3 books sold today. Here's a link to the "Word on the Street" bookshop in Ashtead, recently voted Best Independent Business in the Epsom & Ewell Business Awards. Not just a bookshop, but a place where avid readers can attend lively and fun book club and author events, as well as literary quizzes!
