Happy 2025!

Here's to a happy and healthy 2025! The message of the New Year fireworks was that “London will always be a city of hope and a place for everyone”. In uncertain times, this message is particularly poignant.

The London Eye was as usual the focus of the magnificent firework display. Also known as the Millennium Wheel, it is an observation wheel with 32 passenger capsules on the South Bank of the River Thames. It is Europe's tallest cantilevered observation wheel, and the most popular paid tourist attraction in the United Kingdom with over three million visitors annually. It offers fantastic views of the historic political and royal centre of Westminster and celebrates its 25th birthday this year. Originally it was only intended as a temporary attraction, with a five-year lease, but was granted permanent status in 2002. It is become a well-loved part of the London skyline.
