Grab a Cushion!

The fabulous recreated "Shakespeare's Globe" theatre on the banks of the Thames is THE place to see a Shakespeare play this summer and autumn. Choose from the hilarious comedies"Merry Wives of Windsor" or "Twelfth Night" or the dramatic "Troilus and Cressida"! Grab a cushion (highly recommended) and take in the delights of open-air Elizabethan theatre close to its original setting.

Thanks to American actor and director, Sam Wannamaker, this is a really special space which opened in 1997, some 500 years after the original. It is now a thriving, unique, venue which also offers behind the scenes tours as well as the live performances. My experiences there have been amazing and I can also recommend a pre-theatre meal at the Swan next door.
